South Students Advance to National History Day Competition

South Jr. High 9th grade students Ari Dengler, Myla Denger, Luis Ruiz-Gomez and Rawaa Mahdi placed 2nd in the recently held National History Day in Idaho competition, qualifying them to compete in the National History Day Contest in Washington, D.C., June 11-15 .

The theme for History Day this year was "Taking a Stand in History" and the South team's research and performance was about instances of people standing up for the rights of immigrants and refugees in the United States. The South History Club is lead by World Studies Instructor Danielle Stoddard.  

An account through the Boise Public Schools Education Foundation has been established to help raise funds for these South students to participate in the National competition. To donate, write "South History Club" in the comments section located on the Foundation donation website.
